News : Conduant Corporation Wins IQ Award for Its New Amazon Recording and Playback System

August 24, 2005

LONGMONT, Colorado, August 24, 2005 – Conduant Corporation (www.conduant.com), the leading developer of high performance data recording and playback systems, today announced that it has won the prestigious IQ (Innovation Quotient) Award presented by the Boulder County Business Report. Conduant was selected for innovation in the Computer Products & Services category. Over 80 Colorado companies vied for the 10 finalist slots.

Conduant received its IQ award at the 6th annual IQ Awards held August 18th at the University of Colorado’s Stadium Club at Folsom Field on the Boulder campus. Unlike other data storage applications, Conduant’s StreamStor™ technology operates independently from a host computer. Data goes directly to disk avoiding delays and bottlenecks. This results in much faster performance demanded by its customers in scientific research, government, military and instrumentation applications.
“Since 1996 we have been working to advance the state of the art in high speed data capture and recording,” stated Ken Owens, Conduant’s CEO, “With the availability of our newest product, Amazon, we have pushed recording and playback to 400 megabytes per second. With those speeds, we could easily record the entire Library of Congress collection in less than 15 hours.”

Conduant sells to government prime contractors, systems integrators, original equipment manufacturers and end users. Key applications include: radio astronomy, radar/sonar gathering, digital signal processing, GPS downloads and other instrumentation applications. Conduant technology is also used in high-resolution imaging, digital cinematography, and atmospheric applications as well.

Conduant’s customers include the MIT Haystack Observatory, NRAO (National Radio Astronomy Observatory), Raytheon, Motorola, Boeing, Sandia National Labs, US Navy, NASA Ames Research Center, Applied Signal Technology, National Instruments, Georgia Institute of Technology and many others.
