| The StreamStor® LVDS mezzanine board can be used with compatible StreamStor® controllers to provide a direct data port for low voltage differential signal (LVDS) data. When combined with a StreamStor® controller such as Amazon or Amazon Express this interface provides recording or playback rates up to 600 MB/s. With 16 bits of recording and 16 bits of playback data and a clock speed of up to 200 MHz, the LVDS provides a flexible port for connection to external devices driving LVDS data signals. The LVDS mezzanine board uses two high density Samtec cables/connectors for the incoming data and outgoing data, clock and flow control signals. This provides a reliable connection and cable interface capable of supporting lengths varying from 2 meters at 200 MHz to several meters at lower frequencies to external devices. The LVDS interface is implemented using an Altera FPGA to provide a flexible platform that allows customizing to customer specifications. The default implementation provides a 16 bit input connector with clock and flow control signals and a separate 16 bit output connector with clock and flow control. These separate interfaces allow record and/or playback of LVDS data for various applications such as RF signal generation, A/D recording, video recording, etc. The LVDS mezzanine board can be optionally configured for 32 bit recording or playback.
