Ethernet is the pipe for your source data

This is a way to get your real-time source data into the recorder. Your instrument sends its digitized stream as UDP packets over 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and Conduant writes those packets straight to disk. The recorder is not inspecting the network or the traffic on it. It is capturing the source data the packets carry, at full rate, with none of it dropped.

In most cases the source connects straight to the recorder, so the data has one job on that link, which is to reach the disk.
